Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Customers rave about the amazing quality of scampi, describing it as the best they've ever had, with generous portions and crispy breading. The fish and chips are also a highlight, with many noting that the cod is cooked in a wonderfully crisp batter. Large chips receive praise for being perfectly cooked, and the 'proper chip shop gravy' is a favorite accompaniment. Regulars can’t get enough of the garlic mushrooms, which are often described as 'obscenely good,' and the selection of pies, especially the steak & kidney, receives high marks as well. Friendly service adds to the charm; reports of staff staying open late to fulfill orders leave a lasting positive impression.

Most Disliked

Not all feedback is perfectly rosy; some customers express concern about the dated signage, which might initially mislead them about the quality inside. A few visitors wish for more variety in dessert offerings, indicating a longing for more sweet treats post-meal. While most praise the food, a couple have referenced a need for faster service during peak hours, though many agree that the quality of food is worth the wait. A minor concern also arises regarding the logistics of the takeaway experience; some diners hope for more efficient packaging of meals.

Stopped whilst out working at 9pm on a Monday evening and so pleased that I did it was without doubt the best scampi I’ve ever had period!!!! Lovely and will call again to try the fish and chips next time. The quality of the scampi was amazing, so large and lots of juicy scampi in the bread crumbs!

Staying at a campsite nearby, decided to try Dolphin Fish bar to feed 2 adults and 2 kids. Absolutely beautiful food, we had fish, chips and kebab, all absolutely perfect and huge portions, the best of all, actual proper chip shop gravy! Gutted we live so far away as would 1000000% visit again!

Fantastic value for money, run by the most friendly of women (she even stayed open late to do our order as we arrived at closing time). So many things on the menu, fish is in the crispiest and tastiest batter (cooked haddock for us fresh). Chips are delicious and really generous portion. The garlic mushrooms were obscenely good, and they even do an apple pie like McDonald’s. Far better than the chippy on the High Street (who are rude and consistently forget to descale fish before frying!!!) 5 hygiene rating too, and you can tell they work to keep the kitchen clean. Don’t let the dated signs fool you - this is a brilliant chippy and I can’t recommend it enough!

Stopped here on our way to Somerset. The food was excellent and we sat on a bench in a tiny park opposite. The sun was out and we were well fed. Great Chips

Literally a perfect portion of chips. Cooked to perfection with not a single piece being inedible. You usually get the odd black chip or overcooked one. Not here. I was throughly impressed. The batter was cooked to perfection too on the sausage. Very well done. Vwry good value for money too.

Fish cooked fresh and chips were tasty, well worth the money. Waited about 10/15 minutes but obviously had to cook from scratch so it was worth the wait. The lady who served me accidentally broke the fish in half when she parcelled it up which didn’t bother me at all but she gave me a free can of vimto as an apology. Friendly and polite staff and fish and chips very tasty, I’ll be coming back for sure!!

I'm the owner of ciao eatalia, sometimes we had something different for our staff meal and the mix kebab is the best i haver tried, great portion, amazing quality and very good value for money, the place is always with people in, the ladies who works there especially the owner are always so nice and professional, and over all looks really clean too. Better then lots of kebabs shops around Swindon.
